Madecassoside
Madecassoside is derived from a tropical plant, "Centella Asiatica," also known as tiger grass. Many research studies indicate that this plant is effective in alleviating and healing damaged skin (scratches, small wounds, and burns). It works especially well in conjunction with vitamin C in rebuilding the skin barrier and in reducing inflammation and redness.
Ceramides
Naturally occuring lipid (oil or fat) molecules that make up most of skin's outer layer that holds the skin cells together. There are nine different kinds of ceramides that has been identified in skin and these ceramides are often used in skincare products to help replenish and recover the lipids that may have been lost due to environmental aggressors. It's often paired with cholesterol and fatty acids to mimic the composition of skin.
Niacinamide
Also known as vitamin b3 and nicotinic acid, niacinamide is jack-of-all-trades ingredient that is known to have skin-restoring, anti-aging, and brightening benefits. This ingredient is also known to help diminish the look of large pores, fine lines, and dark spots, while strengthening the skin barrier. With minimal irritation potential and a wide array of known benefits, niacinamide is often used in skincare products.
Andiroba Seed Oil
Andiroba is a plant from an Amazonian tree. The seeds of Andiroba produce valuable oil that was used to make folk medicine to treat cough, skin infections, rashes, joint aches, wounds, and herpes. More recently, it's being used in skincare and haircare products. Rich in vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids, andiroba seed oil promotes the growth of new skin cells.
